To control ground transportation by promoting competition, investment, and the use of technology for safe and efficient service for sustainable development in the country.

LATRA STAKEHOLDERS

LATRA serves and cares for all stakeholders who use Road transport as well as Rail transport.

Stakeholders of this authority are transporters of long-distance buses and intercity buses, cargo vehicles, bus and truck drivers, service providers of specialized rental cars, internet taxi service providers, passengers, public institutions, and citizens in total.

FUNCTION OF AUTHORITY

The function of the Authority is specified in the fifth section (5) of law no.3 of LATRA of the year 2019 as follows;
  • To carry out the obligation of the sect oral Laws
  • Issuing, renewing, or canceling shipping licenses
  • coordinates ground transportation security activities.
  • Registering operators and certifying drivers of public transport on the ground
  • Ensuring and confirming the safety of public transport on the ground for use.
  • Monitoring the performance of regulated sectors by looking at investment levels, costs, availability, and efficiency of services.
  • Handling and facilitating the resolution of disputes and complaints.
  • To educate the public about the duties and responsibilities of the Authority.
